LUNA RAE  is a contemporary fine artist based in Northern California. Her creative impulse thrives on immersion in the elements, and has developed among the endless array of beauty in her daily life working as a farmer and gardener, growing food and medicine in community and surfing and hiking the Sonoma coast and California wilderness. Using fluid mediums to create soft gradients and vivid earth tones, her work reflects the vibrancy of the natural world and aims to tell a story of interconnection and reverence for the natural rhythms that guide our lives. Flora, fauna and celestial symbols invoke awareness of the connection between our felt experience and the cosmos as they expand both beyond this world and deep into the smallest parts of life on earth.

After receiving a BA in Cultural Anthropology from UC Davis in 2016, adventures led her to the mountains of Ecuador where she began painting murals as part of a water conservation initiative commissioned by FONAQ (Fund for the Protection of Water). Deeply inspired by the experience of creating art with an impact, she has completed mural projects for the land-based community of Rhiannon in Malchingui, Ecuador, as well as New Family Farm and several other local residences in Sebastopol, CA. Most recently, she has developed her practice with smaller collection pieces for exhibition and sale, alongside various design projects, including a skateboard design competition with Streetwise Arts in Boulder, CO to inspire awareness around environmentalism and climate action.

She creates and shares her art with the intention of offering beauty to the world and to inspire a sense of curiosity, embodiment and resilience as we navigate complex times.
